Physically - To able to run when I want to but also learn to do other physically active things with my kids and not break down my body, I often take on too much and I need to learn to ease into exercise.
Spiritually - I want to be able to actually focus and clear my mind through meditation, five mintues will be my first goal, meditation is something I think would help me in my daily life because I am very high-strung and it causes my to struggle in relationships.
Psychologically - In the same sense, I need to remain calm even if I am not in control and learn to trust that someone else can do things, they may not be the way I want them done - it is the thought that counts and I tend to make others feel worthless because I can be quite controlling. My marriage was controlling and I learned a lot about how it feels to be controlled and I do not want to be the one making someone else feel that way.

My Mind-Body-Spirit Rating Reflection
Physically I would have to say that I rate myself at a 7 or 8. I am a runner and I love being active however I my body does not handle my activity level well and I have issues with my hips and bones often so I have to learn to be a bit less active. Spiritually I am a 5 but pushing towards a 8, I am learning to be more in-tune to myself and also to use the techniques we have learned in class such as Journey on Relaxation to understand my spirit more, I want to be able to know who I am on all levels and spiritual is one I struggle with. Psychologically I am a 7, I am not completly screwed up but i have my own demons to face, I left a verbally and emotionally abusive marriage last year and I am still picking up the pieces and trying to learn to trust again and it is hard sometimes. I am learning to lean on others and share what is on my mind more because it does not help to keep things bottled up.

Journey On Relaxation
The Journey On Relaxation was very similar to the stress reduction tracks I listened to last term in my stress management class, I believe it is the same man speaking. As I listened to the relaxation track I could imagine my blood flowing through my vessels and my heart pumping the blood to circulate through my body. I continued to listen and felt a weight lifted from my shoulders as stress began to leave me. I teach right now and I have adult learner students that I have used stress reduction techniques on before a test to get them relaxed and thinking clearly to focus on their test. I have tried a few approaches to using the stress reduction techniques but it seems most effective when the reader uses a slow, almost monotone voice and there is instrumental music in the background to assist the client in relaxing. Currently, my students are my clients and they can get stressed before tests or just with everyday life so these exercises are very beneficial. For the future, my clients will be children but I plan to work with the school board to improve lunches so I am not sure how I can use these techniques on them but I know I will use them when I become frustrated.

Can I open a present yet?
I have been divorced for a year now, it is not even official yet, and this is the first Christmas that the kids know we are never going to all be a family again so I spoiled them - afterall, I want to be the cool parent! j/k My parents thought it would be cool to have the presents all under the Christmas tree when the boys got back from their dad's house Sunday so we wrapped everything and my 4 year old is consistent about asking nearly very hour if he can open a present! I always thought Christmas was fun as a kid but I find it even to be even better as a parent - I am so excited about the presents I got them and I hope they love them and tell their dad all about what they got from ME! lol!
